what class of towing hitch does a 2001 dodge ram 1500 quad cab rwd 5.2 v-8?
i need to know what class it comes with and i also need to know if i could put a class 4 hitch on the truck
if needed you can install a class 4 hitch on it, but a class 3 hitch will be all that truck would ever need,they will hold what ever you want to put on it,i got a class 3 hitch and i pull a car hauler with it,you can only pull so much weight with a 1500 series truck anyway so a class 3 is more than you would need,if you over load that truck you will do more damage to it,pulling ten thousand pounds or so is enough to pull with it,that's more than the truck its self weighs. good luck.
