I can't get the trailer hitch off my suv. any suggestions?
The tongue that inserts into the square hole is stuck. Its the first time Its been put in and there are no levers or anything to release it. It won't budge at all and I can't see the holes in the tongue to put the safety pin in. Could it be that its just pushed too far in? (its a 2006 chevy equinox, stock tow package) Thank you!
You could try CAREFULLY heating the receiver with a torch to expand the metal. The receiver will likely expand more quickkly than the hitch itself. Wrap a chain around the ball and hook it to another vehicle which would pull out the hitch. Stay out of the way --- you don't want that hitch hitting you on the head as it breaks loose. Tell the other driver to back up slowly. Good luck.
