what kind of gooseneck hitch is needed?
i got my f350 used and it has the four hole/pins in the bed at bed level for a goose neck style hitch since i got the truck used i don't know what kind of hitch would mount into these holes
im looking to buy a gooseneck hitch but not sure what one would MATCH the hole/mount in the bed because i didnt put it in
Gooseneck hitches do not use four holes. A gooseneck uses a single hole for the ball to stick up through the bed.
The Reese Elite, or formerly Signature, uses four holes that a hitch drops into. It is designed to be compatible with both fifth wheel hitches and gooseneck plate hitches. They simply drop into those 4 holes, and latch secure. It sounds like that may be what you have. A picture would help immensely.
If that is indeed the kit you have, you need to identify if it is an Elite or a Signature. Not all accessories are compatible with both of those platforms.
You should be able to see the brackets on the frame rail if you jack up the rear and remove one of the wheels. You may find a label there with a part number on it.
I'm concerned about the "pins" that you mentioned. Some people mistake the bolts that secure the bed to the frame for a hitch mounting system. Check the picture I've linked below. That is the Elite system, those 4 pucks.
