I have a 16ft stock trailer with dividing door, is it safe to put 2 horses in rear and leave front empty?
I need to haul 2 horses in the rear of my 16ft two axle trailer and keep the tack in the front. I have been just hauling 1 quarter horse but now need to haul 2 quarter horses. In the summer I split them up and put the saddles in the bed of the truck, but in the winter I can't do it. It is a bumper hitch pull.

Add..so having both in the front together would be ok? I do understand about the leverage issue, but it is a twn axle and the horses front legs are on the rear of the 2 axles. I was planning on putting them both up but was hoping I was missing something that would allow both to be in the rear because of the twin axel
The load really needs to be balanced.
Think back to physics class, the simple machines, and the lever. Imagine the bottom line, gate to hitch, of your trailer as the lever and your axles as the fulcrum. Load the horses in the back, and where does the force exert? On your coupler. Not a great idea.
That's oversimplifying, but I hope it's clear enough.
